“It was unfortunate. It was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “Present was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “It was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”

This is not the first time an league proprietor has been penalized for inappropriate behavior. Recent cases involve:
